MIKE Bentley took the individual honours and the Beacon Bowl Trophy at the recent Foresters Golf Society meeting held at Whiteleaf Golf Club, Buckinghamshire, on Thursday, 3 October.
On a dry but cool day, Mike, of UK Wood Exports, had a winning score of 37 Stableford points.
In second place, on 35 points, was Chris Sparrow of the Duchy of Lancaster, with John Lockhart, of Lockhart Garratt, third on 34 points.
Iwan Parry of Tilhill Forestry won the ‘nearest the pin’ competition with a fine tee shot.
The team event was won by Mike Bentley, David Shorthouse and David Duncan.
The Foresters Golf Society is open to anyone with a forestry interest – owners, managers, agents, contractors, timber merchants, surveyors, accountants, etc.
Next year’s events are scheduled for Wellingborough Golf Club, Northamptonshire, on Thursday, 21 May, 2020, and Whiteleaf Golf Club on Thursday, 1 October, 2020.
The Whiteleaf day will be the the 20th anniversary of the first Foresters Golf Day.
