FORESTRY and Land Scotland is looking forward to meeting current and potential new contractors next week (4 September, 10am-4pm) at a free ‘Meet the Buyer North’ event being staged at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort, Aviemore.

Organised by the Supplier Development Programme, in partnership with the Scottish Government and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the event offers businesses in the north of Scotland a rare opportunity to speak directly to a wide range of purchasers and decision-makers.

FLS procurement manager Dorothy Low said: “This is a great way for businesses to find out what opportunities FLS offers and to have chat with us about how they should go about taking advantage of those opportunities.

“£11 billion is spent in the public sector in Scotland each year on goods, services and works and this event will be an ideal opportunity for businesses, especially small ones to find out more about bidding for public sector work.

“This is a great way to test the water, speak to the experts and get some good advice and guidance on working with the public sector.”

The free event will bring together buyers from the public sector, including Scottish local authorities, NHS Scotland, universities and colleges, construction, transport and many more.

There will also be several large private contractors exhibiting that are keen to engage with new suppliers and promote their sub-contract opportunities.

Spaces are limited and anyone interested in attending should register as soon as possible.
