Job vacancy: Harvesting Manager based south England
Tilhill Forestry has an immediate opportunity to join the business and drive it forward in an area of significant growth potential.
This senior position involves the procurement of standing timber for Tilhill Forestry working closely with a range of clients, Tilhill Forest Managers and customers for the purchase and sale of all roundwood products to market. The successful candidate will be responsible for the valuation and purchase of standing timber parcels, engagement and supervision of teams to undertake the harvesting and haulage, together with the management of staff as required to fulfil the work programme.
We are seeking someone with relevant experience who is self-motivated, can lead a team with enthusiasm, manage our relationship with key suppliers and customers, and be ambitious in developing the business further. You should possess excellent communication and management skills, demonstrate a good safety and environmental awareness, and be a good team player.
Candidates should hold a degree or diploma in a relevant discipline and /or have at least 5 years operational and management experience in forestry. Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is also desirable.
