FOREST machinery manufacturer FAE Group has launched four new models onto the market for excavator mulchers.
The new BL3/EX/VT mulcher with Bite Limiter technology is designed for excavators from 12 to 20 tonnes. It is able to mulch logs up to 20 cm in diameter and is available in two working widths, 125 cm and 150 cm.
The Bite Limiter technology features special steel profiles that limit the depth of blade action, which is said to reduce the demand for power while guaranteeing speed and performance. The machine has a 110 cc VT (Variable Torque) motor, said to significantly improve mulching performance, increase torque when necessary and minimise rotor stalling conditions. It is equipped with the new BL blades, made from heat-treated forged steel.
Included as standard are a flow control valve for optimal mulcher adjustment, interchangeable bolt-on adjustable skids, a hydraulic hood and bolt on and interchangeable inner anti-wear Hardox plates.
Additional options include a front fixed thumb bracket and hydraulic thumb, a mechanically adjustable rear deflector, customisable attachment plates and interchangeable bolted on Spike PRO counter-blade.
The BL3/EX/VT is available with new Sonic technology, described by FAE as a smart, flexible system that automatically calibrates the mulcher’s hydraulic parameters, allowing it to work consistently at maximum capacity in any working conditions. Sonic is said to increase the machine’s performance by at least 30 per cent.
The UML/EX/VT fixed-tooth mulcher for excavators from 14 to 20 tonnes is now also available with Sonic technology.
The BL1/EX/VT is now available with a VT motor. The new model features a 55-cc hydraulic piston motor with automatic displacement in pressure, said to guarantee a 25–30 per cent productivity increase as well as maximum ease of use.
