WOOD recovery and conversion specialist Anstee Services has taken delivery of a new John Deere 1510G forwarder to help meet the growing demand for biomass.

Anstee Services managing director, Craig Anstee, commented: “The forwarder is our latest investment and will be integral to our site clearance and forestry management services across the UK. To ensure very low ground pressure, we specified a long rear bogie axle set up with specialist flotation tracks. This allows enhanced and environmentally friendly operation and performance in soft soil.

“We’ve also fitted the forwarder with a Dutch Dragon press collector. Forest and woodland owners are increasingly recognising the value of recovering brash, so it’s a great benefit that the press collector increases the brash carrying capacity by 25 per cent. The combination of our forwarder and press collector enables fewer loads and keeps ground disturbance to a minimum.”

The 1510G is capable of carrying round wood, brash and whole trees.
