FOURTEEN students from colleges in England and Wales have been awarded RFS Silky Fox Handsaw Awards in 2019, recognising the best student or the student showing most endeavour in practical hands-on skills in tree and woodland care.
Those receiving awards were: Capel Manor College: Sarita Fenton, Arboriculture and Forestry Diploma.
Coleg Cambria: James Flint, City and Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate in Land and Wildlife, and Joseph Maguire, City and Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture.
Coleg Meirion Dwyfor: Harry Tustin, Level 3 Countryside Management/Forestry, and Josh Roberts, Level 2 Diploma in Countryside and Environment.
Hadlow College: Ryan Herrington, Level 3 Extended Diploma Countryside Management.
Hereford and Ludlow College: Jordan Austin, Arborist Standard, Level 2, and Joseph Page, Level 2 Forestry and Arboriculture.
Moulton College: Daniel Bland, ECAR Level Subsidiary Diploma in Arboriculture.
Myerscough College: Jack Priestley, Level 3 Arboriculture Technical Certificate.
Northumberland College: Matthew Robson, Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture.
Plumpton College: Oliver Vincent and William Smith (both Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture).
Sparsholt College: Samantha Kehoe, Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture.
