INTERNATIONAL forestry and forest technology trade fair INTERFORST will take place on July 20–23, 2022 in Munich, Germany.

Personal meetings with members of the advisory board and analysis of the exhibitor survey 2018 showed that the majority within the industry welcome a shortened trade fair, organisers said. Given this broad support, venue operator Messe München has decided to reduce the next INTERFORST to four trade fair days.

Reinhard Pfeiffer, deputy chairman of the executive board of Messe München, issued his support for the decision: “INTERFORST is the leading platform for innovations and solutions in the field of forestry, wood and bioenergy. We owe that primarily to our loyal exhibitors and visitors. That’s why it’s important to us to ensure the best conditions for everyone involved.”

Analysis of the visitor survey showed that visitors spend an average of between one and three days at the trade fair.

Ralf Dreeke, managing director of Wahlers Forsttechnik, said: “I am convinced that we are right in our decision to shorten the trade fair. Our visitors should have a hundred per cent INTERFORST without having to spend more time for it. The advisory board supports the decision unanimously.”

Constructive and interactive trade fair programmes will be offered from and for the fields of business, science and politics, organisers said, and the INTERFORST project group is currently working on a diverse supporting programme comprising lectures, workshops and live demonstrations.
