Rangers may be eleven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, but Ibrox hero Ally McCoist is refusing to get carried away.

Steven Gerrard's side put in another stunning display yesterday as they defeated Aberdeen 4-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

And with Celtic dropping points against Hibs on Saturday, Rangers were able to extend their lead at the top.

McCoist has been delighted with his former side this campaign and he admits it is starting to get to the stage where he struggling to keep his feet on the ground.

He told talkSPORT: “It’s hard not to be impressed. There’s a long way to go but they’ve got good players.

"It’s very hard to stay level headed and keep your feet on the ground, but you’re asking me whether Rangers can go on and win the league?

“From this moment in time, from what I’ve seen, yes.”

McCoist also highlighted the Gers midfield for their tireless work in the middle of the park.

He added: "It’s good players, quite simple. A manager is only as good as his players and that’s what Rangers have got at the moment, a great balance.

“The balance in the side, the young lad Ryan Jack has been absolutely fabulous.
Listen, I don’t want to get carried away but it’s difficult not to. They’re really comfortable in the middle of the park. Kamara might be the buy of the season or any season at just £50k.”
