RURAL employers, colleges, schools and organisations working in partnership with others are being asked to put forward their nominations for ALBAS 2021 before the deadline of Thursday 17th December.

After the deadline, an independent panel of judges will shortlist the finalists. The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony taking place on Thursday 4th March 2021.

Open to those involved in agriculture, aquaculture, equine, fisheries management, environmental conservation, game and wildlife, horticulture, trees and timber and land-based engineering, the awards are now in their 19th year of celebrating the achievements of Scotland’s top trainees.

After the deadline, an independent panel of judges will shortlist the finalists. The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony taking place on Thursday 4th March 2021.

Liz Barron-Majerik, Director of Lantra Scotland said: “Our ALBAS celebrate the hard work and achievements of the most talented students, trainees, mentors, training providers, secondary schools and partners in Scotland’s land-based and aquacul-ture sector. We want the awards to be as successful as they’ve been in previous years, so to avoid any risks from COVID-19 we’re going to go virtual for 2021.

“We’d like to remind everyone to put forward their nominations before the deadline and help us to recognise and promote the industry’s best talent.”
