WOODLAND Heritage is seeking a new chair to take over the reins from Simon Burvill at the end of the year.
The successful candidate will fulfill the voluntary role for an initial period of two years, tasked with growing the charity’s profile and membership and securing future success.
Simon, a long-serving trustee, was sworn in for a 12-month period following the untimely death of Lewis Scott last November.

Lewis founded WH alongside Peter Goodwin nearly three decades ago and from its initial small start, the charity has initiated research projects into acute oak decline and created the well-received Woodland to Workshop course, which has helped hundreds of people start on a firm foundation in the timber and forest industries.
A WH spokesperson added: “The role is a voluntary one, initially for two years, but with the expectation that the satisfaction of delivering the chair’s activities will be greater than any remuneration package – however, approved expenses will be paid.”
“Anyone interested should send an expression of interest of no more than 750 words to Guy Corbett Marshall (chief executive) at mywoodlandheritage@gmail.com, stating why this role appeals and how and why they would be the ideal chair; applicants are also invited to submit their latest CV.
