ONE of the UK and Ireland’s largest timber processing firms has stepped in to provide team strips for the junior members of a Scottish shinty club.

Glennon Brothers stumped up the cash to fund Dunoon Camanachd Shinty Club’s purchase after the team was unable to meet the costs.

It means Dunoon Camanachd’s junior players – aged up to 15 – will now sport the firm’s distinctive logo on their blue- and yellow-coloured tops.

The youngsters are proud to line up in their new kit and agree this has boosted their sense of team identity – especially now that competitive playing has resumed. The club was delighted when its U14 squad won the National League Development Cup at the end of last season in its first-ever such victory.

Forestry Journal:

With the 2023 season now starting, the junior members of Dunoon Camanachd look forward to getting out on the pitch in their strips and are grateful to Glennon Bros for their support.

The family-owned firm has several sawmills in Scotland and Ireland, including in Troon and Longford.
