THE Royal Forestry Society (RFS) Awards have gone to 10 exceptional students.
Receiving RFS Student of the Year awards were:

Tom Chance of Bangor University, a second-year student, BSc Forestry.
Louie Clarke of Coleg Glynllifon, Wales for Level 3 Forestry and Arb, Best Practical Student.

Tomos Jones of Coleg Glynllifon, Wales for Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture, Best Overall Student. Tomos also won the RFS North Wales Division Shield.

Jenson Taylor of Hill Holt Wood, Norton Disney, Lincoln, Level 1 Horticulture pathway.

David Tindall of Coleg Glynllifon, Wales, Level 2 Countryside and the Environment.

Ben Wilson of University of Cumbria, for the highest overall grade for the BSc (Hons) Woodland Ecology and Conservation.

North Wales Divisional awards also went to Jacob Goodwin of Coleg Cambria, receiving the Best Student Award, and John Hughes, awarded the Bangor Bursary.

The South Western Divisional Esmond Harris Award went to India Blake of Exeter University (Penryn campus) for the best forestry-related dissertation from a student in the geography department.

The Herefordshire Division George Clive Award 2023 went to Suzanna Hodson, best student at the Holme Lacy Campus of Hereford, Ludlow and North Shropshire College. Suzanna is at the end of the second year of a Forestry Apprenticeship based at the Whitbourne Estate.

The RFS wished all well in their future forestry careers.
