SAWMILLING specialist Wood-Mizer has unveiled a new version of its popular LT20 model, designed to offer the complete package in terms of hydraulics, functionality and customer satisfaction.

From the outset, the manufacturer’s goal was to craft a sawmill that combines hydraulics and functionality at a reasonable price. That mission has been achieved with the release of the LT20START, a sawmill combining advanced technology with practical solutions, delivering exceptional wood-milling quality, but without a hefty investment.

Since its debut in 2003, the LT20 model has been recognized as a precise and reliable machine, appreciated by a broad range of customers. Put to use by start-up companies, small and medium-sized sawmilling businesses, as well as individual users, it is perfect for those who look for efficient and flexible ways to convert logs to timber.

The new model comes with a complete hydraulic package as standard to ensure easy and fast log handling and an automatic height adjustment device to maximize operator efficiency. Plus, as a stock sawmill, which it is ready for immediate shipping, which means customers don’t have to wait for the production lead time.

Capable of precise sawmilling of logs with a maximum diameter of 80 cm and a length of 6.1 m, the LT20START boasts a hydraulic package which includes three side supports, a central clamp, a turner, two leveling rollers, and loading arms. The user operates hydraulic functions through intuitive levers, enabling efficient work and reducing the time needed to produce planks or beams.

Optional bed extensions of 1.8 m, 3.6 m, or 7.2 m allow users to customize the machine for sawmilling longer logs, expanding the sawmill’s application range and opening new business opportunities.

The LT20START sawmill has an ergonomic control panel with the SW10 Setworks device for automatic cutting height adjustment, eliminating the need for manual calculations and adjustments. An 11 kW electric motor provides sufficient power for soft and hardwood processing.

The M-size bed frame is made in the same way as in other sawmills, and is equipped with roof-shaped bed rails, effectively preventing bark from accumulating under the processed log and significantly improving sawmilling precision. This solution is supported by optional stainless steel covers, providing additional bed protection.

The bed length can be modified by adding bed extensions, which come without hydraulics. The central clamp has been redesigned and now it is based on a single rod – a practical modification that matches most sawmilling applications.

An electrically extended guide arm stabilizes the blade during log cutting. The blade lubrication system automatically engages when the blade starts working.

The LT20START sawmill can also be equipped with a debarker. This device makes a preliminary cut in the bark, extending the blade’s life and enhancing the precision and quality of cuts.

Original Wood-Mizer blades, measuring 4,010 mm in length and 32-35 mm in width, ensure unparalleled cutting efficiency and longevity, making the LT20START the ideal choice for sawyers aiming to maximize efficiency while minimizing operational costs.

An LT20SUPER variant allows for more advanced customization of the sawmill tailored to the individual needs of users. Customers can choose the bed length, hydraulic package or more sawhead features.

Wood-Mizer is confident the LT20START meets the market’s needs and wood-processing professionals’ expectations.

Marketing and PR specialist Marcin Kozlowski said: “The LT20START is offered as the most popular and practical configuration with standard hydraulics for easy log handling and a control panel with the Setworks for adjusting cutting height automatically. To make it available for a very attractive price, we limited the number of options to a necessary minimum, still retaining the sawmill’s functionality, reliability and cutting parameters.

“If you’re looking for the most practical and popular sawmill configuration with full hydraulics, you don’t want to wait for the production lead time and you don’t want to spend too much money, the Wood-Mizer LT20START is the sawmill for you.”
