LONGSTANDING timber haulage firm Ferguson Transport & Shipping received a top accolade at the recent 2019 Highland Business Awards.

The awards ceremony took place on Friday 27th September, at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness. The afternoon recognises the achievements of businesses and individuals throughout the Highlands.

Ferguson Timber & Shipping, which is based near Fort William, was shortlisted in three categories, taking the overall Highland Business of the Year Award, while group managing director Alasdair Ferguson was named Business Leader of the Year.

2019 is a landmark year for the company, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in June.

Alasdair commented: “We were delighted and honoured to receive these awards last week. It is a great achievement for us as a business, family and team and a testimony to our hardworking, dedicated staff who have played a major part in the growth and continuous development of our business. Reaching our 60th year is a huge milestone for us, and these awards have been the icing on the cake.”
