AREA MANAGER

Location – Oban, West Highland North Area, North Scotland Region

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced forest manager to be a key member of our North Scotland Region forestry team in the role of Area Manager, leading a team of six forest managers in the West Highland North Area, Oban office.

The team currently manage 19,000ha of forests across 30 different properties, delivering a professional high-quality woodland management and woodland creation service. The role will include leadership and management oversight of the forestry team and the work they complete on behalf of our clients, within the company’s Assurance Management System. Reporting to (and supported by) the North Scotland Region Manager, with 4 other Area Managers, this is an exciting opportunity to drive forward the growth and development of our business and industry.

About you

We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, driven, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. In addition to this, you’ll have:
• Relevant academic qualifications.
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body (or working towards within 12 months of appointment).
• A safety qualification ‘IOSH Managing Safely’ or equivalent such as Manager’s CSCS card holder.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• The vision, ability and enthusiasm to expand the company’s customer base effectively.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Design, planning and successful delivery of woodland creation projects.
• Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard & UKWAS.
• Full driving licence.
