ASSISTANT FOREST MANAGER

Based: Sandbank office, Dunoon (West Highland South Area)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our West Highland South Area forestry team in the role of Assistant Forest Manager, managing a growing portfolio of client properties.

In this role you will support and assist the existing team of Forest Managers, together with responsibility for delivering a professional high-quality woodland management service to our existing clients alongside our other on-going forestry related opportunities, including woodland creation. The role includes building sound client and contractor relationships and, day to day, the delivery of approved client budgets, implementation and control of work programmes and over time, preparing grant applications and written reports. The role offers a healthy balance between on-site and office-based activity.

About you
We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, driven, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. In addition to this, ideally you’ll have:

• Relevant academic qualifications.
• Strong commercial acumen and at least 2 years’ operational experience, depending on grade.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Good knowledge of the Scottish Forestry Grant scheme, UK Forestry.
• Standard and UKWAS.
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
• Full driving licence.
