ASSISTANT/TRAINEE WILDLIFE MANAGER


Based: Jedburgh, Scotland
Covering Eskdale and Teviot region
Monday-Friday, 38.75hrs per week

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant/Trainee Wildlife Manager to join us at Tilhill, supporting our Wildlife Managers in the delivery of wildlife solutions and management across the Eskdale and Teviot region. Some responsibilities of an Assistant/Trainee Wildlife Manager include:


• Support and assist Wildlife Managers with the implementation of optimum methods of crop protection and wildlife management, including deer culling and larder work
• Provide support and advice to Forestry Management teams on general wildlife matters relating to the forest environment
• Delivering assessments on Nearest Neighbour (NN) Browsing and Indirect Population, as well as completing surveys on breeding bird and mammals, pre-operational site checks and other associated reporting where required
• Representing and promoting the Company’s environmental image and standard.


About you

Your background in wildlife conservation has developed your sound knowledge of best practice relating to wildlife conservation and environmental legislations. With strong relationship management skills, you’re able to build and maintain exceptional rapport with your colleagues and clients. In addition to this, you’ll have


• Degree or Diploma in either Wildlife Management, Ecology, Environment &/or other related subject(s).
• Some deer culling experience would be preferred but equally important is the interest in the job.
• Level 1 &/or 2 Certificate(s) in Deer Stalking.
• Firearms Certificate. •Commercial acumen & land-based operational experience
• Full driving licence.
