CERTIFICATION MANAGER - FORESTRY


Salary: £33,553 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week

Contract: Permanent

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.

We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.


About the opportunity

The Forestry team is mainly based in Bristol, UK but has staff and representatives based in Europe too. We are a friendly tight knit team who help each other out and often work across several portfolios.

We responsible for FSC and PEFC certification activities in over 40 countries for both Forestry and Chain of Custody. This means there are loads of challenges, rewards and opportunities. Your work may be engaging with stakeholders in Australia one day, and planning forest management audits in Chile the next.

Much of the work is office based but with opportunity for travel under normal circumstances.


About you

You will have:
• Experience in forestry and certification
• Experience in auditing

You will be

• Inquisitive and interested
• Pragmatic and fair
• Comfortable with standards and QMS systems
• Great with people
• Comfortable leading a team or being in charge of a room.


For the role in Europe we ask for fluency in one of the following: Croatian, Slovenian, or Bosnian.
