CONTRACTS MANAGER /
HARVESTING AND MARKETING MANAGER

Over the past twenty years RTS Forestry has developed an unrivalled reputation in developing and implementing renewable energy and transmission projects across Scotland. Applications are sought for a highly motivated Contracts Manager to continue our growth in this quickly evolving and expanding field.

This is a senior role in RTS Forestry encompassing the procurement, operational planning and delivery of all scales of project. Securing and delivering these contracts in a competitive marketplace requires the highest commercial skillset and operational expertise.

The successful candidate will seek to maximise the opportunity provided by the independence of RTS Forestry to secure and deliver these projects. A high degree of operational autonomy will be provided to a suitably experienced individual. This is a diverse role covering the entire duration of projects through the physical onsite surveying, client and timber end user negotiations, contract agreement, site logistical management, ongoing financial reporting and H&S/Environmental management.

Although this role is based in our Head Office in Crieff, operations are ongoing throughout Scotland. Accordingly, travelling to these operations will be required on a week-to-week basis. The successful candidate will welcome the opportunity to develop and implement multiple projects without a defined geographical region.

Required skills and aptitudes

• Experience in CDM operations/timber harvesting operations of variety of scales
• Proven experience in successful negotiations with clients and timber end users
• A high level of communication and presentational skills
• A full understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements
• Proven contractor/line management experience
