FOREST CERTIFICATION MANAGER

Tilhill has an exciting opportunity for a Forest Certification Manager to join our Safety & Assurance Team.


The Role
Reporting to the Head of Safety & Assurance, you will be responsible for Tilhill’s UKWAS Certification Scheme, including both the Group and Resource Manager schemes.

You will coordinate the UKWAS audit programme, take the lead auditor role for UKWAS Audits and liaise with external auditors as required. You will review and support Chain of Custody processes and Company’s compliance and provide advice and guidance on required certification.

As part of the Safety & Assurance Team you’ll take a Lead Auditor role for internal Safety & Assurance Audits of our Integrated Management System. You will also be expected to represent the Company at Industry Bodies conferences and events.


Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
• Relevant professional qualification in forestry or other land-based industry.
• Professional membership of ICF or working towards.
• Proven experience in auditing.
• Good understanding of UKWAS, Forest Management & Chain of Custody Certification.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001, ISO45001.
• At least 5 years’ operational experience in a senior management position.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Driving licence.
