FOREST WORKS SUPERVISOR

Based: Eskdale & Teviot Area - Jedburgh office

We have an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our forestry team in the role of Forest Works Supervisor based out of our Jedburgh office.

This is a key role responsible for delivering a high-quality woodland management service. Day to day, this will include sub-contractor supervision, site surveys, quality assessments, reporting to forest management team, general forest management visits and a wide range of other engaging tasks.

About you
We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, driven, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. In addition to this, you’ll have:

Practical experience of planting and maintenance of woodland creation and restock sites, ground preparation and fencing. Current competence certificates, e.g PA1/PA6, ATV, Chainsaw certificates preferred but not essential. Experience of timber harvesting is desirable but not essential.
Ability to interpret and follow instruction.
Proven experience and ability to instruct and monitor operations (quality control and ensuring specifications met).
Good communication and time management skills.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems in practical environments.
Be able to work independently and as part of team.
Ability to manage/prioritise workload.
Strong organisational skills.
Good level of IT competence.
Ability to apply high professional standards in a thriving, commercially driven business.
Strong work ethic.
Full Driving Licence.
