Burghley Estate is a diverse business centred in the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire. At the heart of the Estate is Burghley House, set within 1,500 acres of historic parkland. Our business interests are wide and varied including the House and Gardens visitor attractions and events, Burghley Park Golf Club, a significant property portfolio, including residential, agricultural and commercial properties and a number of ambitious and extensive capital development and visitor growth projects in and around Stamford in the coming years and decades.

We are looking for a keen and hardworking individual to join Forestry, Park and Amenities Department.

THE ROLE: As a Forester you will report to the Head Forester and work as part of a team covering a wide and varied range of Forester duties. To include tree and park maintenance using chainsaws, strimmers and brush cutters, pesticide spraying, and a range of other duties. You will also be responsible for helping with commercial property and wider estate forestry maintenance work, and the preparation of the park for various events held throughout the year. Dependent on experience you may also be required to operate garden machinery as well as ATVs and other vehicles.

THE CANDIDATE: A knowledge of forestry and/or arboriculture would be an advantage but not essential as the successful candidate must be keen and have the desire to learn new skills in forestry, gardening or horticulture. You must be able to work well as part of a team and work alongside all trades effectively.

• Must live within or be able to commute to Stamford, Lincolnshire.
• Driving Licence is essential.
• Any relevant certificates or qualifications such as PA1/PA6 pesticide spraying certificate or NPTC Units 201, 202 and 203 chainsaw assessments would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.
