FORESTER & GENERAL ESTATE WORKER

Full time 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, emergency out of hours support as needed

Balcarres Estate, based in the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland is seeking a Forester and General Estate Worker.

The role will be centered around the management of the Estate’s 700 acres of mixed woodland. The candidate will be a required to take leadership in organising and implementing the Estate’s woodland annual work programme comprising of tree planting, weeding, pruning, thinning, felling and timber extraction.

The ideal candidate will bring with them experience and qualifications to operate a variety of forestry equipment including a tractor, forwarder, tractor-mounted winch, chainsaws and other powered equipment. Further training can be provided if necessary. A valid driving licence will also be required for the role.

We are seeking a candidate who is competent and enthusiastic. They must be willing and able to work alone as well as alongside the estate team. Involvement in all aspects of estate repair and maintenance work will be required from time to time.

The role comes with tied accommodation of a two-bedroom cottage within the estate grounds.
