FORESTRY DIRECTOR

Based: Central Scotland (HO in Sitrling) with extensive travel throughout Scotland

Tilhill has an exciting opportunity for a Forestry Director to join our Company Executive Board.


The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading the Forest Management Operations to deliver a sales volume well in excess of £30m. You will set and achieve strategic objectives which will optimise the forestry and landscaping operations.

You will have 5 direct reports and 140 employees overall to manage and inspire in delivering excellent service to our clients and in turn developing the commercial value of the business.

Providing expertise to continue the development of a culture encompassing financial delivery, change, health & safety and employee retention will be top priority.


Qualifications and Experience
The role requires a commercially focused professional, with strong budgetary and analytical skills, who has operated at a Senior level and has extensive relevant knowledge and experience within the Forestry sector. This will be supported with an education to degree level.

As a well-developed people manager with strong leadership skills, you will have the ability to embrace opportunities for change whilst improving the Forestry Operations performance. At the same time, possessing strategic perspective and a proven expertise in forming and implementing policies and programmes to deliver the Divisions’ and the wider Tilhill objectives.
