FORESTRY MANAGER

McConnachie Land & Forestry Services Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forestry Manager to join our team and play a key role in managing our clients’ woodlands throughout Morayshire and the North East of Scotland.

The role will involve all aspects of private woodland management, from establishment through to harvesting. Our client base includes large private estates through to farm scale woodlands and encompasses a diverse range of woodland types and management objectives. The successful candidate will be required to prepare strategic Forest Plans, develop woodland creation projects, apply for forestry grants, prepare and monitor budgets, write management reports, market timber and initiate and supervise operations. A good working knowledge of the Scottish Forestry Grant Scheme and the UK Forestry Standard will be required. The role requires IT skills, including the use of GIS mapping software.

Applicants will be required to hold relevant academic qualifications or be able to demonstrate a proven track record of relevant forestry management experience. Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable. A full driving licence is essential.

You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, be self-motivated and dynamic, work to high professional standards and be able to work effectively on your own or as part of a team.
