FORESTRY MANAGER

Based in West Linton near Edinburgh

Treeline Woodlands Ltd is a small, family run company based south of Edinburgh. We have been operating for 30 years and have a broad base of clients in the Scottish Borders, Lothians and Central Belt. We offer a comprehensive range of forestry services, all of which are centred around the core business of Woodland/Forestry Management.

Due to changing staff roles, we have a new position for a Forestry Manager to lead our woodland establishment department. The successful applicant must be able to take responsibility for our current management portfolio and continue to provide a professional high-quality service, as well as having the ability and desire to gain new clients.

The role will include:
- Communication and meetings with clients, suppliers and contractors
- the preparation of plans, maps, reports and budgets for planting schemes and restocking schemes
- liaising with Scottish Forestry over grant applications and planting schemes etc.
- the implementation of beat-up surveys and all maintenance works where required
- The continuation of relationships with current clients

Requirements:
- At least one year’s experience in a similar role
- Relevant forestry/academic qualifications or proven forestry background
- The ability to take ownership and assume responsibility for the woodland establishment arm of the business
- Professional levels of verbal and written communication
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- A practical approach to problem solving
- Enthusiastic, flexible and able to work alongside a wider team
- A clean UK driving licence
