To serve the existing and expanding client base, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a graduate Forestry Consultant to support our Farms and Rural Business Services Division and help to grow the business. You will be working closely with two of our current woodland advisors working from our Edinburgh and Ayr offices. Work will be predominantly site implementation of woodland creation schemes but will also include budgeting and design, carbon sales, preparation of standing sale tenders and harvesting supervision, restocking, small scale civil engineering projects, FGS grant applications, forest plans, GIS mapping, and delivering forestry events and publications as part of the Farm Advisory Service.

The candidates should have a good all round knowledge of forestry, project management and planning skills and must be able to work on their own initiative. Experience and interest in the farming benefits of forestry will be a distinct advantage. You will preferably be a member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, or working towards this, and must have a Degree in forestry or a closely related subject.
