HARVESTING MANAGERS / SENIOR HARVESTING MANAGERS

West & South-West Scotland


We are currently seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with relevant harvesting and marketing experience to join our existing teams in West and South-West Scotland. The key duties would involve working closely with our existing clients and customers and development of new business.

We have a vacancy for a harvesting manager to be based in South-West Scotland (Dumfries) and a vacancy for harvesting managers to be based in West Scotland (Dunoon, Lochgilphead, Glasgow). We wish to grow our business in these areas and the successful candidates would help to achieve this.

You should have an in-depth understanding of timber marketing, standing sale assessment, site planning, harvesting systems and working with contractors is essential. You should be capable of working with the existing timber harvesting team in addition to Forest Management colleagues on existing client properties and possess excellent communication and organisational ability.

To be successful in this role you must have demonstrable operational experience and be capable of working on your own initiative. Forestry qualifications are advantageous but not a pre-requisite. This position may also suit someone with an environmental, geography, agricultural or rural surveying qualification who has the relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have professional acumen, is commercially aware and possesses excellent communication and organisation skills. Demonstrable experience of working with contractors, project management and health & safety management are essential for the role.

Candidates must have a current driving licence to perform the remit of the role.
