RTS Woodfuel is a successful division of RTS Limited, a forestry company based in Crieff. RTS Woodfuel is one of Scotland’s leading producers of woodfuel biomass used in the production of renewable heat energy. Our two Woodfuel depots in Perthshire and North Glasgow service our wide range of clients across the country. These clients range from individual householders, to schools, hospitals, district heating systems and large commercial users who have adopted this form of renewable energy using biomass for heating.

The Woodfuel division calls on around 40,000 tonnes of roundwood timber each year which is delivered to our depots for storage, prior to being chipped into a range of woodfuel products. This is then dried using our own biomass boilers prior to being dispatched by a combination of internal and external haulage systems.

The role
Your role will be Production & Distribution Manager, taking overall responsibility for all operations within our depots and you will report directly to the company Managing Director. The role includes leading an existing team of 8 production staff along with managing the external haulage contractors from our main depot outside Perth. In addition, you will be expected to liaise with the existing customers and work with RTS senior management to identify new business opportunities to improve profitability and help the business grow.

The requirements
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently and fully understand the production challenges within this industry. It is understood your experience may come from other production sectors, possibly within the rural sectors. As a senior manager within RTS Ltd you will be able to respond to this fast evolving and dynamic industry within a company that will give you the opportunity to further develop your career. You will fully understand and embrace the importance to both RTS and clients of maintaining the highest standards of production and the methods of achieving robust quality control in both the production and distribution processes of our business. You will also manage the financial element of this division, overseeing the regular production of client invoices and monitoring company expenditure. Strong leadership and staff management skills are also key to this role.
