Certified
The Forestry Commission’s woodlands are certified as complying
with the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS). This sets out the requirements
which must be met by forest and woodland owners and managers in order
to obtain certification, and has been endorsed by the Forest Stewardship
Council (FSC). Therefore the FSC label can be displayed on products
from FC forests.
Joining
Forces
It is a long way from Warwick
to Inverness and Fuelwood’s Richard Slatem chose to break his
journey halfway – in Northumberland. He took the opportunity to
drop off the company’s demonstration model of the Transaw 350
firewood processor with Kenny Dobson and Stephen Wills of Forest Machine
Services (FMS).
The
Lumberjack Trail
During
the dark days of the Second World War this wood was one of many throughout
the country, and indeed the rest of Britain, that was logged by members
of the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit. The unit had been formed
in 1939 after a dramatic appeal from the British government to many
places throughout the world, including Newfoundland, for experienced
forestry workers.

Why
advertise with Forestry Journal and essentialARB?
The typical Forestry Journal and essentialARB reader subscribes because
he regularly needs to buy equipment to carry out the tasks in which
he is involved on a day-to-day basis. Typically he does not subscribe
to any other industry magazine.
Forestry Journal and essentialARB is the magazine for the Forest &
British Timber Industry. This means that if your company’s name
has never appeared in Forestry Journal or essentialARB, there is no
chance of him even considering you when he comes to make a buying decision.
To advertise, even occasionally, will get your product onto his short-list.
Subscriptions from government agencies, local authorities, membership
organisations, colleges and universities, as well as contractors and
forestry workers, mean you reach more people, who buy equipment and
services, through FJ and essentialARB than any other medium. Profit
from the success of the most widely read forestry magazine.

Forestry Journal and essentialARB are the number one choice of people
who make their living from our industry.
Forestry Journal and
essentialARB are widely acknowledged as an authoritative and up-to-date-source
of news on the politics of forestry.
Forestry Journal and
essentialARB are the only forestry magazine with a designated Arb /
Amenity section every month
Practical
people – good for business
Forestry
is a practical business – and practical people buy and use the tools
of their trade. A careful editorial balance means that:
Forestry Journal and essentialARB
always carries articles on industry issues and developments alongside
features which, cover the more hands-on aspects of forestry.
Always first with the news, Forestry Journal and essentialARB are therefore
essential reading for the forestry manager or consultant, but achieves
this without alienating the contractors and forestry workers who make
up the core of its readership.
Forestry Journal and essentialARB focuses on a capital intensive area
which is simply not taken seriously by other publications – so if
you're not advertising in Forestry
Journal you may be spending money talking solely to managers or consultants
who, when they need to get a job done, will call an Forestry Journal reader
in to do it for them!
Don’t waste your valuable resources talking to people who never
buy or use the tools of the trade. Target the right people directly through
the pages of Forestry Journal and essentialARB.
