TREECONOMICS will be partnering up with Trädkonsult to host the second European i-Tree Conference, in Malmö, Sweden.
Since the first conference was held four years ago in Alnarp, i-Tree Eco software has been adopted in all of Sweden’s major cities, with several other large-scale i-Tree Eco projects happening in Europe and beyond. There will be a lineup of speakers from around the world, including the US, Mexico, Australia and Europe, who will be talking about the work they are doing with i-Tree, detailing how they have used the toolkit to achieve their own specific goals.
The aim of the conference is to let people know about these projects, and to provide fresh inspiration for users of the toolkit. Johan Östberg of Trädkonsult said: “This conference will help us to better understand the many benefits that trees in urban environments provide, and what managers can do to maximise these benefits.”
Craig Harrison of the Forestry Commission, who is speaking at the event, added: “I’m really looking forward to the i-Tree conference, not only to inform people about i-Tree work in London and reflections on its impact, but also to learn what other towns and cities have done, so that we can continue to make the most of this valuable evidence base into the future.”
The conference takes place on 2 October. An additional workshop will take place on 3 October, which will cover the use and application of i-Tree Canopy and i-Tree Eco.
