SCOTTISH Forestry has appointed a new conservator for the Grampian region.
Steven Hutcheon will lead the Grampian Conservancy team, implementing key woodland creation policies and forestry regulations.
Having previously worked for Highlands and Islands Enterprise in a variety of roles, he also spent time with International Paper in their operations team.
On joining Scottish Forestry, he said: “With climate change and nature loss being our two main global threats, our woodlands and forests have never been so important.
“The recent storms have been a painful reminder of the force of nature. Right now we are very focussed in helping woodland owners in the north east recover and collectively plan a way forward.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting new stakeholders so that we can work together and build stronger relationships.”
