Reporting to: Commercial Manager

Working Relationships: Commercial Managers, Customer Services Coordinators, Pricing and Administration Staff, Credit Controller and Account Staff, Suppliers Representative, Customers


The Job

The role of regional account manager is to manage in conjunction with the Commercial Manager Day to running of southern based arborist | heigh safety accounts and will including supporting national and house accounts. The ideal candidate will be based around the M4 corridor with an established presence within the industry, have great interpersonal and organisation skills with an eye for detail. Preferable experience of “working at height” practices and a general understanding of the arborist market would be preferable. Experience of using ERP also preferable but not essential.

The Role

Sales Management

• To ensure that the requirements of all existing customers within territory are being met
• To ensure that there is a constant pipeline of potential customers that are being moved through the various stages of the sale
• To coordinate instore technical product training within territory
• To ensure that the maximum amount of possible business is obtained from each account
• To be an active member of the Sales Team, participating and encouraging others
• to participate in tasks and meetings, sharing information to improve team knowledge
• To actively support other team members to ensure targets and tasks are completed
• To consistently achieve personal targets and assist team members to achieve team success

Commercial Focus:

• To understand the business requirements including a full the full range of Arborist Products and understand and advise on At Height best practices.
• To add value to brands and services to optimise the business benefits to our customers and the company
• To understand the personal and business benefits of maximising customer value
• To recognise the primary competitors in the industry and be aware of current offerings
• To promote the brands and work to brand standards
• To maintain detailed records of customer and call data as appropriate to ensure the capture of all information of future commercial value

Customer Service:

• To deliver excellent service to customers (both internal and external) by understanding their needs, providing recommendations with integrity and delivering first rate solutions
• To act on feedback from customers to improve customer service and use customer problems as opportunity to put things right
• To work closely with Customer Services colleagues to create a joint approach to delivering excellent service, whilst obtaining optimum order lead times and maximum flexibility of order

Book management

• Working in conjunction with the Customer Services Unit to ensure that customer orders are managed effectively and that every opportunity to upsell to existing customers is exploited.
• Working with the Credit Control Team to ensure that debtor days are at target levels and that debtors are managed effectively.

Security/Safety:

• To ensure that all policies and procedures in respect of Security and Health & Safety are adhered to, in order to provide a safe and secure environment for self, colleagues and customers

Technical and Professional Expertise:

• Technical and Professional Expertise in key product sectors such as height safety and PPE.
• To undertake any course or training required for further development
• You may be required to perform additional tasks and responsibilities in line with the needs of the business
