ASSISTANT FOREST MANAGER

Southern England

The role is to assist with the management of a varied portfolio of woodlands across South Central and South West England and would suit a recent graduate or a forestry professional looking for the next stage in their career.

The role can be flexibly located and the ability to work from a home-office base would be an advantage, particularly in current Covid-19 circumstances. You will need to be a motivated self-starter, have good organisational, IT and communication skills and have the ability to work as a key member of a small, friendly team.

Tasks will include (but not limited to):-
• Supervision and control of day-to-day woodland operations.
• Preparation of Woodland Management Plans, Felling Licence Applications and Countryside Stewardship Schemes.
• Undertaking site inspections, mensuration, inventory and GIS mapping work. • Preparing standing sales tender details.

The position will provide an attractive salary, commensurate with experience, plus company vehicle and contributory pension.

Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or working towards chartered status would be desirable
