FORESTRY OPERATOR

Type: Self employed sub contractor

Salary: £30-40 per hour depending on experience

Metsa Limited is a forestry and land engineering company based in Edinburgh conducting woodland creation, woodland management and land engineering across Scotland and the North of England.

Metsa Limited is looking to hire a Forestry Operator to join the growing team and undertake a variety of tasks as part of forestry and land engineering projects. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our small but dedicated team. You will have a can-do attitude and be flexible to undertake a variety of tasks depending on the daily plan. You will be upskilled to be able to undertake these tasks including ground preparation, access building and forestry management. You will be a team player and will support the overall end-state of the project through dedication and a desire to succeed.

You will report to a site manager daily, live on site mostly and welfare will be provided for the team throughout. Given the nature and location of the role, you will be in possession of a full clean driving licence.

Previous experience or qualifications in forestry would be a minimum requirement and we would be particularly keen to hear from candidates with the following licences and experience:

• Forestry NVQs/ relevant experience
• Chainsaw operations. NPTC 201, 202, 203 or more advanced
• Tree Planting
• Excavator operators – rough terrain, forestry and land engineering
• HGV licence, CPC
