Job Description

Metsa Limited is looking to recruit a driven and motivated Forestry Site Foreman to join the growing team and undertake a site Foreman role as part of forestry and land engineering projects. You will have a can-do attitude and ensure that the plan continues on track and be keen to take on a supervisory responsibility. You will be a team player but above all be an excellent manager who can build and lead a team.

You will manage the site and the team and report to a Project Manager daily. Welfare will be provided throughout. Given the nature and location of the role, you will be in possession of a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor ongoing forestry and land engineering operations, ensuring regular communication with direct teams, contractors and merchants.
• Provide a key point of contact for your forestry operators, teams and contractors to communicate effectively with each other.
• Ensure records are kept of site visits, audits and stock control.
• Coordinate any incident response.
• Liaise with Operations Director for any operational, logistical or site requirement.
• The role requires a good level of physical fitness and robustness.

Previous experience or qualifications in forestry would be a minimum requirement and we would be particularly keen to hear from candidates with the following licences and experience:

• FISA Forestry Works Manager course
• CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Certificate and/ or Gold CSCS card
• Forestry NVQs/ relevant experience
