HARVESTING MANAGER/CONTRACTS MANAGER
Location: South Central England & South Wales
Tilhill, the UK’s leading forestry management company has an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our Harvesting Southern Team in the role of either Harvesting Manager or Harvesting Contracts Manager dependent on experience.
The Harvesting Contracts Manager role is to assist with the management of timber harvesting operations with specific responsibility for all aspects of site management, harvesting production and logistics.
The successful candidate will be expected to take on the Forestry Works Manager role and report to the Area Harvesting Manager. Additionally, a Harvesting Manager is responsible for undertaking coup and stand valuations, securing new harvesting opportunities, stand breakout, and P&L as well as growing their designated area.
Ideally, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
• Relevant supervisory experience.• Safety, environmental and commercial awareness.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Ability to lead teams effectively.
• Ability to manage day to day relationships with contractors, hauliers, suppliers and customers.
• Ability to work in fast-paced changing commercial environment.
• Self-motivation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player qualities.
• Full Driving Licence.
