Ford & Etal Estates is a large traditional but forward-looking agricultural estate in North Northumberland with a very strong sense of community. The Estate is based around the two small villages of Ford and Etal, formerly separate estates that were brought together under the ownership of the 1st Lord Joicey in 1908. Ford & Etal is still owned by the Joicey family.

We are looking to recruit a Foreman for our busy Sawmill. A self-motivated driven individual with a proven track record in people management, production and efficient working methods. The position requires a good working knowledge of machinery including forklifts, tractors, Hiab crane and band saws. Good knowledge of the timber and sawmilling sector is also desirable, however applicants with relevant experience from other sectors such as manufacturing or production will be considered.

The main role is to assist the Forestry Manager with all aspects of the day to day running of the Sawmill including saw operation, servicing internal and external customers, staff management, quality control and organisation of cutting list for orders and stock material. There will also be involvement in other aspects of the forestry and estate maintenance departments.
