Grade & Salary: G6, £34,427 rising to £37,656 over four years

Role Purpose

You will be an integral member of the Land Management Team in North West Area with lead responsibility for all aspects of Land Management across the WGWE at Gwydyr and Coed y Brenin forest blocks. To include budget management, contract management, health and safety, stakeholder liaison and conservation and heritage work including Conservation and Heritage coupe plans. A detailed knowledge of woodland management and conservation and heritages essential for the post as is the ability to work with other Teams on our own land such as Recreation and Forest Ops Teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience of working across a wide range of land management disciplines.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of conservation management, designated sites, and all aspects of forest practise, including land liabilities.
• Knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes.
• Coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience of community liaison and public engagement activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public, explaining complex issues and gaining support by influencing.
